US game developers Telltale — the makers of a number of well-received video game adaptations of popular movie and TV franchises — seems to be working on a Guardians of the Galaxy title. The news comes via a document of in-development games circulated by SAG-AFTRA, the voice actors’ union. The union is currently on strike, but members are still allowed to work on titles currently in production.
A list of these games was circulated online, and includes one titled"Guardians Of The Galaxy — The Video Game."The .PDF, which was spotted by sites, says the game's signatory is a company named O'Farrell Enterprises. That same sheet lists O’Farrell Enterprises as working on "The Walking Dead Season 3" — a game that we know Telltale is releasing this month. Telltale also said back in April last year it' be working on an unspecified Marvel game for release in 2017. These clues, along with the fact that that the registered company agent for O'Farrell Enterprises is voice-over director Darragh O’Farrell, suggests the leak is legitimate.
(A fun aside: the .PDF also refers to the Guardians game as "Blue Harvest" — a title used for the production of Star Wars: Return of the Jedi to keep the film's creation secret.)A screenshot of the .PDF from SAG-AFTRA. Telltale has so far made games for franchises including The Walking Dead,Game of Thrones, and Batman, with each title playing more like an interactive TV show than a traditional video game, using minimal action and lots of dialogue.
Guardians Of The Galaxy— a surprise-hit for Marvel in 2014, with a sequel due out next year.

Sony Launch Tournament feature for Play Station 4
Sony has partnered with eSports company ESL to launch a new tournament feature for its PlayStation 4 console. The new Tournaments features will bring together players to participate together in a game of their choice. Sony will be kicking off the new Tournament features with the new NBA 2K17 game. “We’re kicking off the first Major tournament with NBA 2K17, to celebrate the beginning of the NBA season. The Major Tournament runs from October 27 to November 26, with Major Cup rounds occurring every Saturday. Top 3 winners of the NBA 2K17 Major Tournament will receive a prize pack that includes items such as a DualShock 4 controller and PlayStation gear,” said Jogn Koller, Vice President, PlayStation brand Marketing, SIEA.
As a tournament comes alive, users will be able to find them under the ‘Events’ menu on PS4’s system menu. The PS4 will automatically prompt a player when its time for a match, once they have signed up for a tournament. Sony says that there will be different types of tournaments, but initially they will be supporting 1 vs 1 matches. The feature will be improved upon soon and new game modes will be added over time.
To be able to participate in a PlayStation Tournament, a player needs to have a copy of the game, a linked ESL account and a PlayStation Plus membership. Other games that will support the new Tournament feature include WRC 5, Mortal Kombat X and Project Cars.
“Our goal is to create an environment for competitive gaming that allows players to focus on playing the games. With Sony we found a fantastic partner that shared our vision and who worked together with us to create the best experience for gamers around the world. We hope the community enjoys what we have come up with and are looking forward to all the feedback they will provide, as this is just the first step in our partnership with Sony,” said Marcel Menge, Managing Director ESL Technology – speaking on the integration into PS4’s dashboard.

Amnesia: The Dark Descent coming to PS4
Amnesia is one of the decade’s essential video games, a reimagining of the horror genre. Played from a first-person perspective, the goal isn’t to kill hordes of baddies, but simply to progress through a mysterious castle, avoid contact with monsters, and survive.
Released in 2010, Amnesia inspired countless horror games, and played a crucial role in the popularization of video game streaming, where folks like PewDiePie built identities shrieking at Amnesia and its ilk. Which is to say, it’s not a streaming-friendly horror game, it's the streaming-friendly horror game. And yet, for six years, Amnesia, its sequel Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs, and a side project called Amnesia: Justine, have been available exclusively on PC, Mac, and Linux.
A new PS4 collection will bring all three to a video game console for the first tine. Thomas Grip, creative director of Frictional Games, wrote a recap of the events that led to Amnesia's creation, and provides some interesting background on the two games that followed. (For example,Justine was actually a loose tie-in for Portal 2.) But Grip is modest about the game’s significance.
Amnesia: The Dark Descent was released a year after Resident Evil 5, the game that downgraded the biggest horror franchise in video games into a caffeinated action film pastiche.
Since The Dark Descent, the horror genre has embraced the slow pace and vulnerable heroes established by Amnesia. Six years later,Resident Evil 7was introduced with first-person gameplay, featuring a weaponless hero running for their life. A small indie game informed the reigning genre champ, and soon both will be playable on the same console.
The Amnesia Collection will be available on PS4 on November 22nd, 2016.

Shadow Warrior 2 is out now
Shadow Warrior 2, the sequel to the2013 remake of the 1997 first-person shooter, is out now. And there’s some good news for Lo Wang fans: registered Nvidia users who download and log into the new GeForce Experience 3.0could win a free code for the game. If you want the chance to experience Shadow Warrior’s Duke Nukem-style quips and comedic amount of gore without having to pay anything, just register at GeForce.com then install and log into GeForce Experience 3.0.Nvidia has $50,000 worth of codes to give out to random registered users, so if you’ve got one of the company's graphics cards and would like a free game then it may be worth signing up.
Shadow Warrior 2 is already in the “overwhelmingly positive” category on Steam and is receiving positive reviews from critics. It’s also the first PC game to ship with high-dynamic range support, though you’ll need a HDR TV to see it, as there are no HDR monitors available yet.
Nvidia’s GeForce experience is an easy way to keep your GPU drivers up to date. It can also optimize settings for more than 300 games and capture video for streaming or sharing. The latest edition has a new look and is three times faster while using half the memory, according to Nvidia.
The graphics giant has been handing out rewards to GeForce Experience users for a while now. Lucky winners have received GTX 1080s, MSI VR-ready notebooks, HTC Vives, game codes, and more.
In an interview with Kotaku, developer Flying Wild Hog’s PR people said that Shadow Warrior 2 comes without any DRM, such as Denuvo, because: “We prefer to spend resources on making our game the best possible in terms of quality, rather than spending time and money on putting some protection that will not work anyway.”It was reported back in August that a cracking team had allegedly managed to crack Denuvo’s anti-tamper technology.
Shadow Warrior 2 is available now on Steam and GOG.

Sony to enter mobile gaming market
Sony is making plans to launch at least five smartphone games by March 2018, targeting Japan and other Asian markets. A new report from Nikkei suggests that Sony Interactive Entertainment will be offering smartphone games based on its popular PlayStation series, and this will be handled by the company’s gaming arm(subsidiary) – Forward Works.
Sony is expected to revive some older games that are not compatible with PlayStation’s latest hardware for mobile platforms. The games will reportedly be linked to consoles as well, and the Japanese tech giant will announce titles it is developing by the end of 2016.There is a huge market for mobile phone gaming, and Pokemon GO is the biggest example of that. The augmented reality game went viral, and helped rake millions of dollars for the game’s creator Niantic and partners – Nintendo and The Pokemon Company, through in-app purchases. Sony continues to lose traction in the competitive Android smartphone market (currently dominated by Samsung).
Nintendo at the Apple iPhone 7 launch announced ‘Super Mario Run’ for iOS, and Sony too realises the importance of mobile gaming. Sony’s gaming arm, Forward Works was formed earlier this year with an objective of leveraging the intellectual property of PlayStation dedicated software titles and bringing it to smartphones.
Sony in 2014 sold of its PC business (VAIO) to an investment firm – Japan Industrial Partners, in an attempt to restructure the company and focus on mobile devices. While Sony has failed to capture the smartphone industry by storm, the company’s PlayStation consoles have been doing well. According to a Business Insider report, Sony has sold 40 million units of the PlayStation 4 (PS4) since its launch in November 2013. This makes the PS4 the best selling gaming console in the world right now, and Sony recently announced two new versions of the console last month. We’ll have to wait and see if Sony launches these new games for smartphones.
